The Very Good Knife Co Hornet Fixed Blade is built for those who want a tough, capable EDC knife with enough substance to handle more demanding work. As the larger sibling to the Wasp, the Hornet takes the compact fixed-blade concept and gives it a more substantial build, a longer blade, and a spacious handle that accommodates a wide range of hand sizes. It’s a hard-working design that doesn’t sacrifice cutting performance for durability.
The 3.75-inch blade is crafted from AEB-L stainless steel and features a slight drop point profile that offers a practical balance of strength, control, and cutting versatility. A deep hollow grind keeps the edge thin and highly efficient, giving the Hornet excellent slicing capability for detailed cutting tasks. At the same time, the substantial 0.165-inch blade thickness provides the rigidity needed when the work gets heavier. The stonewashed finish adds a rugged appearance and helps give the blade a well-used, hard-working character right out of the box.
The 4-inch handle is constructed from Bourdeaux Jute Micarta, giving the Hornet a distinctive deep red-brown appearance and a dependable grip. With a 0.7-inch thickness and a maximum width of 1 inch, the handle offers plenty of room for a secure grip without making the knife unnecessarily cumbersome. Its generous dimensions make the Hornet comfortable for both large and small hands, allowing you to maintain control through extended cutting tasks.
At 7.75 inches overall and weighing 5.35 ounces, the Hornet strikes a solid balance between portability and capability. It’s substantial enough to inspire confidence during heavier work while remaining compact enough to serve as a practical everyday carry fixed blade. Whether you’re cutting cordage, opening packages, working around camp, or tackling tougher outdoor chores, the Hornet is ready to put in the work.
The included sheath is designed with EDC in mind, keeping the carry setup minimal and streamlined. It comes with both scout-carry and vertical-carry belt loops, along with the necessary screws to attach either configuration. The sheath is also compatible with both large and small Tek-Lok belt attachments, giving you plenty of flexibility to tailor the Hornet to your preferred carry method.
The Very Good Knife Co Hornet combines a rugged build, premium materials, and excellent slicing geometry in one versatile fixed blade. With AEB-L stainless steel, Bourdeaux Jute Micarta, and a stonewashed finish, it’s equally at home on the job, around camp, or clipped into an everyday carry setup.
