The Work Tuff Gear Devilhorn Fixed Knife is a compact, hard-use tactical tool designed for users who need dependable performance in a streamlined, everyday-carry-friendly platform. Born from the evolution of the Woodscraft Chanto concept, the Devilhorn takes a deliberately scaled-down approach, shedding bulk while preserving strength, control, and real-world versatility. It’s built for those who demand a knife that transitions seamlessly from EDC tasks to field use without compromise.
At its core is a 4.3-inch tanto blade crafted from Uddeholm AEB-L stainless steel, cryogenically treated and hardened to 56–58 HRC for an excellent balance of toughness, edge stability, and ease of maintenance. Known for its fine grain structure and reliable edge behavior, AEB-L performs consistently across a wide range of cutting tasks, from precision slicing to more demanding utility work. The satin finish enhances clean aesthetics while reducing drag during use, giving the blade a refined yet functional presence.
The tanto profile delivers strong tip reinforcement for piercing and controlled entry cuts, while still offering a surprisingly versatile cutting edge geometry when paired with the saber grind and micro convex edge. This combination allows the Devilhorn to handle both detailed EDC tasks and heavier field applications with confidence. Whether it’s cutting cordage, opening materials, or tackling unexpected outdoor chores, the blade is engineered to stay composed under pressure.
A key focus of the Devilhorn’s design is ergonomics and adaptability. The full tang construction ensures structural integrity throughout, while the natural canvas Micarta handle provides a secure, confident grip in all conditions. Its textured surface offers excellent traction even when wet, and the organic canvas tone gives the knife a classic, utilitarian character that only improves with use. The handle geometry supports multiple grip positions, allowing the user to shift naturally between precision work and power cuts without losing control.
Measuring 8.4 inches overall and weighing just 5.6 ounces, the Devilhorn is intentionally lightweight and easy to carry, making it an ideal companion for daily use or tactical readiness. A black Kydex sheath with belt clip retention ensures secure carry and fast deployment when needed, keeping the knife accessible without adding unnecessary bulk.
Purpose-built through extensive prototyping and real-world testing, the Devilhorn proves that a compact tanto doesn’t have to sacrifice capability. It’s a refined, disciplined design that thrives in both urban and outdoor environments, delivering consistent performance when it matters most.
