At 19.6 inches overall, the Sea-X is an imposing full-size fixed blade with a 13.5-inch blade and an impressive 12.9-inch cutting edge. Its 0.26-inch blade thickness gives it a substantial, hard-use build, while the full-tang construction provides a solid foundation from the blade through the handle. The saber grind with a micro-convex edge balances cutting performance with a durable edge geometry, giving the Sea-X the capability to handle demanding workloads.
The blade is crafted from Japanese SKS51 steel, a high-carbon alloy tool steel valued for its toughness, flexibility, and wear resistance. Developed for industrial cutting tools and saw blades, SKS51 is designed to withstand repeated impacts and heavy workloads. Its alloying elements, including nickel and chromium, contribute to the steel's shock resistance and toughness, making it particularly well suited to hard-use outdoor blades. Rated at 56-58 HRC, the SKS51 blade delivers a practical balance of durability and performance.
