My First Case Knife. My Most Carried Case Knife.
I bought my Canoe Amber Bone CV model back in 2008. I did not get it from SMKW. Back then I honestly not heard of them. I was just getting into collecting Case knives. This was my first Case knife. I have been carrying it ever since. Not everyday. As I have others I carry sometimes. But this gets the most of the pocket time. The handles have become Pocket Worn naturally. The CV blade has beautiful patina. At first I forced the patina and did not like the looks of it. But after cleaning them back up I have let it slowly naturally occur. I sometime clean them a little bit. But leave most of the patina on it. And I love the looks of the natural patina. I would suggest to not force it. But let it happen naturally. It can get a razor sharp edge to it. It is almost scary sharp. Fit and finish on mine is close enough to perfect for me. At first the opening of the blade was not smooth but somewhat gritty. But I have cleaned it numerous times and I think just from using it it has gotten smooth. I have since bought more Canoes and hope to add more. I could not recommend it more. Perfect size for carry. Back when I could afford to buy knives I gifted one of these to a friend. I didn't know if he would use it. But one day I saw him pull it out of his pocket. He likes it a lot.
