SHOP CASE KNIVESThe CRKT Taco Viper is built for hard use, blending fast deployment with relentless cutting power. Whether you need a dependable everyday carry or a tactical workhorse, this spring-assisted folder is up to the task. Designed for those who demand a knife that can tear through tough materials and keep going, the Taco Viper delivers performance when it counts.
The 4.22-inch drop point blade is forged from 1.4116 high carbon stainless steel, known for its durability and corrosion resistance. Finished with a rugged stonewash treatment, the blade shrugs off scratches and wear, maintaining a work-ready look even after heavy use. Veff serrations along the edge rip through rope, webbing, and fibrous materials with ease, making it an ideal tool for emergency situations or demanding cutting tasks.
Quick deployment is key in a serious folder, and the Taco Viper’s spring-assisted opening gets the blade into action fast. A reliable blade flipper allows for smooth, one-handed operation, while the framelock ensures a solid and secure hold during use. The glass-reinforced nylon handle provides a lightweight yet durable grip, textured for enhanced control in any condition. At 5.62 inches closed, it fits comfortably in hand and carries discreetly in the pocket. A deep-carry stainless steel pocket clip keeps it secure and within easy reach, making it a dependable companion for work or daily carry.
"Antonio Rodriguez designed the Taco Viper based on his first-hand experience as a soldier in the 82nd Airborne, modeling it after the fixed-blade knives worn by Army jumpmasters. Rodriguez named the knife as a callback to his unit, which began referring to itself as Taco Viper after a tongue-in-cheek comment about the snakes that would seek out leftovers from Taco Tuesday dinners in Afghanistan. While the unit no longer bears that name, Rodriguez made sure it would live on in the Taco Viper knife." -CRKT
