I’m absolutely in love with this Copper Barlow! The size is perfect and very comfortable, even in my smaller female hands. The detent is nice and smooth and it being a double detent really makes it feel secure. I chose this one, opposed to the traditional version because it feels like it won’t damage my nails. I’m sure that the men out there won’t be concerned with this as much as the ladies. I just wanted to let any potential female buyers know that this version has that extra benefit. The textured scales feel grippy but not overly so. This is quite a sturdy knife even with the back being an open design, except for the black spacer. I would recommend stropping it when you get it. It’s not a must but it was even nicer after I took it to my strop. I think this one is going to last me the rest of my life. It’s sturdy and seems well made. I’m wondering if one could add a pocket clip to it, as it looks as though you could modify it. Yes, I know that this is an old fashioned knife and these typically don’t come with clips. I am grateful for the lanyard hole and I’m looking forward to making a lanyard for it. If you have been on the fence about purchasing it, just go for it. I felt guilty buying it because I’d just gotten a new knife. I’m really happy that I gave in when I did. I got it before the original price was changed. Perhaps they were on sale before. Even at this price point, it’s definitely worth it. Even copper scales alone go for this much if not more. I can’t wait to see what kind of patina it gets over time.
