Best Folder
Null Knives - Voodoo
The Null Knives Voodoo earned both Best Folder and Best of Show at Blade Show Texas 2026 through a combination of thoughtful design and precise execution. The knife is built around a bolstered construction with layered materials that give it a distinct look without feeling overdone. Features like the textured pivot, clean lockbar access, and the new tri-stud deployment system show a clear focus on usability. The action is smooth and controlled, and the overall build feels deliberate in how each component works together. It comes as a complete, well-resolved design rather than a knife built around a single standout feature.
The Voodoo measures 8.25 inches overall with a 3.6-inch Bjorkman’s Twist Damasteel blade, supported by a .145-inch blade thickness that gives it a solid, capable feel. It runs on caged ceramic ball bearings with a ceramic detent, delivering consistent deployment through its tri-stud system. The 4.65-inch handle is constructed from Grade 5 6AL-4V titanium and fitted with removable Black Dunes Fat Carbon scales in a bolstered configuration. Polished DLC hardware, clip, backspacer, and thumb studs maintain a cohesive look across the build. Weighing in at 4.0 ounces, it feels substantial in hand without being excessive for daily carry.
Best EDC
Arcane Design - Automaton (Mars Edition)
The Arcane Design Automaton Mars Edition earned Best EDC at Blade Show Texas 2026 by focusing on the details that matter in a daily carry. It feels clean and balanced, with a design that avoids unnecessary complexity while still feeling refined. The proportions are well judged, giving it enough blade length to be useful without becoming cumbersome in the pocket. The handle shape supports a secure, natural grip, and the overall build emphasizes usability. Its a knife built for regular use, where consistency, control, and reliability take priority.
The Automaton features a 3.5-inch CPM S90V drop point blade with a satin finish and a flat grind, built for consistent cutting performance and long edge life. The blade measures .12 inches thick and is hardened to 61–62 HRC, giving it a balance of strength and wear resistance. Deployment comes from dual thumb studs, with a linerlock providing straightforward, reliable lockup. The 4.5-inch handle is made from a black and red carbon fiber and G-10 composite, shaped to sit naturally in the hand while keeping a slim profile. At 3.4 ounces and 8 inches overall, it carries easily without sacrificing the control you expect from a knife in this size range.
Best American-Made Knife
Zero Tolerance - 0117
The Zero Tolerance 0117 earned Best American-Made Knife at Blade Show Texas 2026 by focusing on precision, weight reduction, and practical performance. It takes a more restrained approach than many ZT designs, favoring a slim, lightweight build that still delivers the strength expected from the brand. The result is a knife that carries easily while still offering a controlled and stable feel in use. The blade geometry supports clean, efficient cutting, and the handle provides a secure grip without adding bulk. It feels quick and refined in both deployment and handling, with each part contributing to a consistent, reliable experience in daily use.
The 0117 is built around a 3.3-inch CPM MagnaCut drop-point blade with a dual satin and stonewash finish, giving it a clean cutting profile with added resistance to visible wear. At .09 inches thick, the blade favors slicing performance while maintaining enough strength for regular use. It opens using thumb studs and runs on a KVT ball bearing system, producing smooth, controlled deployment. The DuraLock provides secure lockup with ambidextrous operation. A 4.57-inch carbon fiber handle keeps the weight down to 1.9 ounces, contributing to its light, easy carry. With an overall length of 7.87 inches, it maintains a full working size without feeling oversized, while the deep-carry clip keeps it discreet and secure in the pocket.
Best Fixed Blade
Tenable Knives - Loki
The Tenable Knives Loki earned Best Fixed Blade at Blade Show Texas 2026 by focusing on size, control, and everyday usability. It keeps things compact, giving it a practical edge over larger fixed blades that can be harder to carry consistently. Designed by Steven Dunnuck, it showcases a straightforward approach to performance, where simplicity and function take priority. It feels like a knife built to be carried and used regularly, rather than reserved for occasional tasks.
The Loki is built around a 2.99-inch D2 Wharncliffe blade with a flat grind and a rose gold finish, giving it a clean, controlled cutting profile suited for detail work. The blade measures .125 inches thick, offering a solid balance between strength and cutting efficiency. Its full tang construction provides a stable foundation, paired with a 3.89-inch olive green G-10 handle that delivers a secure, textured grip. Null Knives - Vandal
The Null Knives Vandal earned Best Imported Knife at Blade Show Texas 2026 by taking a more aggressive, full-size approach while maintaining the same level of precision and attention to detail. The design leans into a more angular, assertive style, supported by a compound tanto blade that favors strength at the tip and clean, controlled cuts along the edge. Details like the tri-stud deployment and refined lockbar access show the same focus on usability seen in Null’s other designs, applied here to a knife that pushes further into hard-use territory.
The Vandal features a 3.85-inch Vanax SuperClean compound ground tanto blade with a belt satin finish, offering a combination of corrosion resistance, toughness, and edge stability. The blade measures .145 inches thick and is hardened to 60–61 HRC, giving it a solid, durable feel in use. At 4.76 ounces and 8.75 inches overall, it carries with a solid, substantial feel, while the 3D-milled pocket clip keeps it secure and accessible.
