My First Rough Ryder Reserve
Rough Ryder brand has become one of my favorite brands over the past few years. Their quality truly exceeds their price point and most of the time you get a lot of knife for not a lot of money. There have been a few of their reserve models that I've desired, but I always seem to miss out on the few that I attracted my eye. Well for once money and availability came together, and this Black and Blue D2 Tanto folder showed up on a flash sale, so I jumped on it. Talk about an impressive knife, I must admit that this one came well centered, quite sharp, and has a great fit and finish; truly a beautiful bit of cutlery. Very quick to deploy using the flipper or thumb stud, the blade shows no wobble or signs of looseness despite how easy it opens, most impressive. The blade grind is nice and even, the G-10 scales are perfectly fitted, no gaps that I can see looking it over as I write this. The belt clip is a different sort of animal than what I'm used to, but it does seem to have decent retention and though it rides a tad high off the scale, is not too much of an issue to carry. The clip only fits in the one place seen in the photos, so that is what it is. Final words? Great knife for the money, the fit and finish are well worth the pricing.
