New Knives of the Week: August 21st, 2026
Published: August 21st, 2026
As August moves deeper into its second half, this week’s new knife releases lean heavily into exclusives and distinctive materials. Case brings two Smoky Mountain Knife Works exclusives into the mix, giving iconic traditional patterns a modern look through upgraded steels and colorful G-10 construction. White River Knife & Tool follows with another SMKW exclusive that takes a tastier approach, pairing a compact fixed-blade design with one of the most unusual handle materials we have seen this month. Between bright, modern takes on classic American pocketknives and a mouth-watering premium fixed blade, this week’s releases offer plenty of personality.
Case
SMKW Exclusive Crossroads Lime Green XR Barlow
The Case XX SMKW Exclusive Crossroads Lime Green XR Barlow gives the traditional Barlow pattern a much brighter look. Its 2.5" clip-point blade is made from CPM S35VN stainless steel and features a stonewash finish, combining solid edge retention and corrosion resistance with a finish that helps hide everyday wear. A traditional hollow nail-nick handles manual opening, keeping the operation simple and familiar to classic slip joint designs. The 3.3" lime green G-10 handle is paired with Battleship Gray G-10 bolsters and stainless steel hardware in a screwed-together construction. At 5.88” overall and weighing just 2 ounces, the XR Barlow stays compact and easy to carry while bringing a distinctly modern character to one of Case’s most recognizable traditional patterns. Proudly made in the USA.
SMKW Exclusive Crossroads Blue & White G-10 Sod Buster Jr.
The Case XX SMKW Exclusive Crossroads Blue & White G-10 XR Sod Buster Jr brings a colorful update to one of Case’s simplest and most recognizable working patterns. Its 2.8" skinner blade is made from CPM S35VN stainless steel and features a stonewash finish that helps conceal everyday wear. A traditional hollow nail-nick provides manual opening, while the slip joint mechanism keeps operation straightforward and familiar. The 3.63" blue and white swirled G-10 handle gives the knife a layered, marbled appearance, with stainless steel liners adding support beneath the scales. Measuring 6.43" overall and weighing just 2.1 ounces, the Crossroads XR Sod Buster Jr stays compact enough for easy pocket carry. Proudly made in the USA.
White River Knife & Tool
SMKW Exclusive Lasange G-Carta Model 1
The White River Knife & Tool SMKW Exclusive Lasagne G-Carta Model 1 brings a tasty twist to a compact fixed blade, with a layered, mouthwatering handle. Its 3" drop-point blade is made from CPM S90V stainless tool steel and finished with a Flat Dark Earth PVD coating that adds corrosion resistance while keeping glare down. A large finger choil allows you to choke up for added control, while the full-tang construction carries through the handle for added strength. The Lasagne G-Carta handle mixes red, white, brown, and darker layered tones, giving each knife a distinctive look, with black hardware providing contrast. Measuring 7" overall and weighing 3.2 ounces, the Model 1 includes a lanyard slot and comes with a custom-molded black Kydex sheath for secure carry. Proudly made in the USA.
